The 2026 quantitative rankings cover more than 30 million scholars—including active, retired, and deceased scholars—over 3,400 academic institutions, and 135 countries.
The release also includes Highly Ranked Scholars and Top Scholars, recognizing scholars in the top 0.05% and top 0.5%, respectively, within their ranking categories. Rankings are available for both lifetime contributions and contributions during the prior five years, overall and across 14 fields, 177 disciplines, and more than 350,000 specialties.
